Lightstream Computing and Technology was found in 1999 by Joe Boyd. For 5 years Joe worked out of his home building the company into what it is today. Joe formed the company with a team concept in mind, not only for the organization itself but also for the customers. Joe wanted to run his company with all of his associates being involved equally. He made sure to hire people who would bring different backgrounds and experiences to the company but that were also able to mesh as a team.

In 2004 Joe, along with his wife Louisa and her business, purchased and moved the company into the building we are in today. Joe felt that since his business was different than any other company in this field, his building had to be also. He wanted his customers to feel more special and get a personal feel when they came to us. We like to deal with customers one on one rather than having them come to a counter and never seeing what really goes on.

 

The company started as more of a database development and PC repair company. Today the company still maintains its reputation in database development and PC repair, but has also branched out into other various areas such as networking, website development, and general business consulting.

 

In 2004, Joe decided to hire a full-time systems specialist named John Allen and a part time technician who handled all the repair work and networking. Recently John was promoted to Service Manager and Lead Specialist, but he still is our go to guy when it comes to customers problems. In 2005, an administrative assistant position was added in order to ensure anyone who called in had a person to talk with. Recently in 2006, a marketing and creative services director, Stephanie Merholz was added to the team. This position was added in order to add more options and services for our customers and also to help our company continue to grow (watch for our new marketing campaign that will be starting in July!!  We will soon be providing website development and advertising consulting.

 

Our plan for the future is to keep growing. We are hoping to bring on some interns, systems specialist, and another team member to the marketing department. Make sure to continue to follow us because there is much more to come.
